Metro Group divestment of Real Turkey to Haci Duran Begendik

METRO GROUP signed an agreement with Hacı Duran Begendik about the divestment of Real's Turkish operations. With this move, Real will fully focus on the successful development of its business in Germany. It was agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The transaction still requires approval by the responsible competition authorities in Turkey and is expected to be closed in summer 2014. Turkey remains an important focus country for METRO GROUP's other sales linesMETRO Cash & Carry and Media-Saturn.

The divestment of Real Turkey to Hacı Duran Begendik covers all twelve hypermarkets and the headquarters. Real Turkey generated sales of €256 million in financial year 2012/13 and employs a workforce of around 1,800 employees. LM

Acquisition of Hilton in Frankfurt backed by HSH Nordbank

Marccus Partners has accompanied the sale of the Hilton Hotel in downtown Frankfurt am Main and thereby advised the previous owner and seller. The team of Marccus partner to the Frankfurter real estate law partner Thomas Wing, LL.M. advised on the negotiations and the conclusion of the purchase agreement and the subsequent process of closing of the transaction and the repayment of previous funding . Future owner of the property is a specialized on luxury hotels Investor . The lease with Hilton remains.

The hotel deal is one of the largest independent hotel transactions in Frankfurt over the past decade and shows that will invest heavily in the German hotel market and this thanks to the robust German economy offers attractive investment opportunities with stable returns .
