Loews to open fifth hotel at Universal Orlando Resort Juliet Dennis
Loews Hotels & Resorts will open a 1,000-room property at Universal Orlando Resort in 2016. The Loews Sapphire Falls Resort will be the group’s fifth hotel at the theme park resort. The Caribbean-inspired
property will take bookings from next spring, ahead of a summer opening. It will bring the number of on-site hotel rooms at Universal Orlando to 5,200. The hotel will be opposite the
Cabana Bay Beach Resort. It will have 1,000 rooms, including 77 suites, and will be built around a lagoon and waterfall.

The resort will include a pool with a water slide, a children’s play area, and a beach and fire pit in a central courtyard surrounded by the hotel’s rooms. Water taxis and shuttle buses will serve the resort’s restaurant and entertainment areas.
Jonathan Tisch, chairman of Loews Hotels & Resorts, said: “Loews Sapphire Falls Resort will be every bit as distinctive as the other four on-site hotels and will offer a new option to families looking for a truly special Orlando holiday.” The hotel will offer early admission to Universal’s theme parks, a restaurant with outdoor dining, a themed lobby lounge, poolside bar and grill, a quick- service ‘marketplace’ restaurant, valet service and a fitness centre.
