SAS launches online training course to help agents sell premium product Hollie-Rae Merrick


Scandinavian Airlines is looking to push sales of its premium product by training more agents on its offering. SAS, which has moved into its new London base in Heathrow’s Terminal 2 alongside other Star Alliance airlines, has introduced an e-learning course to showcase what customers get once booked on SAS Plus. Agents who complete the module will be entered into a prize draw, with three pairs of flights up for grabs. UK sales manager Anne Deamer said SAS Plus offered passengers

Flybe codeshare deal with Finnair opens up Asia to passengers


Flybe has secured a codeshare agreement with Finnair that will allow passengers from Manchester airport to fly on to Asia. Twice-daily flights between Manchester and Helsinki were introduced on Monday, allowing passengers to connect to 15 Finnair destinations in Asia. Passengers can also connect


through Helsinki from Flybe’s 10 other UK regional airports, including Aberdeen, Belfast, Edinburgh and the Isle of Man. Gatwick posts busiest month in its history Gatwick reported its busiest-ever month in August, with 4.36 million passengers passing through the airport – 8.2% up on August 2013. Ryanair takes delivery of 180 Boeing aircraft Ryanair has taken delivery of 180 Boeing 737-800 aircraft, worth $16 billion. The airline will receive a further 21 aircraft by July 2015. Earlier this month, Ryanair ordered 100 Boeing 737 Max 200 aircraft. Chief executive Michael O’Leary said Ryanair “aims to have a fleet of 520 aircraft by 2024 and to create another 3,000 jobs for pilots, cabin crew and engineers in Europe”.
