Gomo updates SAAS tool

Gomo has updated its eponymous multi-device authoring tool. It is the first major update since its launch earlier this year. Starting at £49 a month, the software as a service (SAAS) tool has been launched in Europe and the US. It allows users to create multi-device e-learning content and, according to Gomo learning, the latest release hosts new capabilities and features designed to save time and improve the responsive and adaptive HTML 5 output. Usability improvements include custom font

Mike Alcock said: “This release is the result of listening to our customers and giving them what they need. “We look forward to seeing even more organisations joining us in delivering multi-device e-learning to all of their

Because Gomo is a cloud-based service subscribers will receive the update when they log into their accounts.

Project Rhapsody targets young onset dementia carers A European project to help those with young onset

dementia has been set up to provide an internet- based learning programme on the illness. A group of multidisciplinary experts, in industry, academia and patient and carer organisations, have joined efforts to gather information to create the Rhapsody project (Research to Assess Policies and Strategies for Dementia in the Young). The e-learning programme is to be tailored to the identified needs of those with the illness, and to show carers how to manage associated problems, such as financial or behavioural ones. Alexander Kurz, project co-ordinator, highlighted the need for the online programme. He said: “Interventions are currently available at very few research centres in Europe. Access to such specialist services is usually limited.” The programme is to be piloted in a real-world setting.
