Loire cruises for the first time, with Loire Princesse sailing five-night itineraries to Nantes, Saint Nazaire, Ancenis and Angers, from £1,199. Shearings reported a 10% year-
on-year increase in river cruise sales this year. The Mississippi river features in the 2015 programme for the first time, with a sailing from New Orleans to Memphis on The American Queen. The 10-day
Mississippi’s Southern Charms cruise leads in at £2,799. Shearings is also offering a new three-night mini cruise from Amsterdam to Dusseldorf, which leads in at £549. Caroline Brown, commercial
director, said: “With bookings up 14%, the Danube has been one of the most popular destinations this year, so we’ve introduced three exclusive itineraries on Da Vinci. “Our new mini cruises are designed to attract those who are new to cruising.” A new river cruise brochure is being sent to agents, with an incentive to win £250 in vouchers.
