Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4 RAM fi res up
THE NEXT generation of memory technology is about to hit the market.
Ballistix Elite DDR4 memory is designed for gamers and enthusiasts, delivering introductory speeds that start at 2666 MT/s and 3000 MT/s. Crucial states that it expects speeds to get faster as the technology matures.
The new Elite modules are said to offer nearly twice the bandwidth of conventional DDR3 memory at up to 24GB/s, resulting in improved system responsiveness and increased frame rates. Elite DDR4 memory is also said to deliver up to 40 per cent more
power effi ciency than standard DDR3 memory. The Elite modules are optimised for Intel X99 platforms, with additional support for XMP 2.0 profi les. The modules introduce a new design to the Ballistix line-up, with an aluminum heat spreader for improved heat dissipation on a custom- designed black PCB.
The heat dissipation design is supported by the Ballistix Memory Overview Display (MOD) utility, an integrated thermal sensor with real-time temperature monitoring which helps with overclocking heat control.

Roccat aims to own the couch
ROCCAT IS hoping to capture the attention of Steam Machine and living room PC owners with a new keyboard and mousepad hybrid. The Roccat Sova is claimed to be the ‘world’s fi rst highly modular wireless keyboard and mousepad combo’, designed for gamers looking to play in their living room. “Streaming your PC games to a living room television has always meant sacrifi ce, particularly with wireless devices not manufactured for competitive players,” explained Roccat founder and CEO René Korte.
“We wanted to create a new instrument, a wireless keyboard and mousepad combo free of heavy latency,
