Power semi distributor America Semiconductor has appointed Concord Components, specialists in the distribution of military and commercial-grade board level components, to its network of franchised distributors

Concord will maintain a large

inventory of America Semiconductor's high-reliability high-power standard, fast and super-fast recovery rectifiers, low-power and bridge rectifiers, diacs, IGBT modules, SCRs, Triacs, Shottky and Zener diodes at its Nebraska headquarters and distribution center, as well as in its New York and North Carolina facilities. 8 July/August 2014

Central Semiconductor and Digi-Key have announced a global distribution agreement. Central Semiconductor supplies discrete semiconductors for products from smart phones, tablets and laptop computers to bar code scanners, portable medical devices and telecom systems. It also continues to manufacture legacy technology devices still needed by many manufacturers of products with long life cycles. Mark Zack, vice president for Global

Power distribution acquisition

Sager Electronics has entered into a purchase agreement to acquire PowerGate, a North American power specialist distributor headquartered in Santa Clara, California.

Frank Flynn, president of Sager Electronics,

said, “PowerGate is a recognized power specialist with concentration in select North American markets. This acquisition advances one of our growth strategies and strengthens our position in the market as a power specialist. Sager Electronics will preserve and build upon PowerGate’s specialization by making significant investments in additional key markets and inventory in order to accelerate growth.”

Paul Christiansen, president of PowerGate,

said, “We are thrilled to become part of an organization that values and understands our business model. My team and I are excited to join the Sager Electronics organization and have the opportunity to service more customers in power with leading edge technologies, technical sales expertise and field application engineering.”

Upon completion of the acquisition, Paul

Christiansen will join Sager Electronics as vice president Supplier Marketing and Product Management for Power. Ed Kramar, currently vice president PowerGate, will remain with the organization in an advisory capacity for a period of time.

Frequency products agreement Future Electronics has announced a

worldwide distribution agreement with ECS International. Founded in 1980, ECS offers one of the most comprehensive lines of frequency control devices in the industry, from cylindrical tuning‐fork crystals to high‐ stability oven‐controlled oscillators.

ECS's products are delivered through a

supply chain network of global subsidiary offices. The company's global production facilities and administrative organization of over 400 employees is dedicated to servicing a worldwide customer base. The company’s broad product offering includes crystals, oscillators, resonators, filters and

TCXO/VCXO, for industrial, medical, automotive, lighting, security, telecom and datacom market applications.
