Cities: Montréal & Québec City Stylish and vibrant, Montréal and Québec City are packed with opportunities to combine sightseeing with active outdoor experiences. Montréal is set on an island while Québec City is the only walled city in North America and a 'must-see' World Heritage Site.
Recommend that visitors first

or time exploring Mont Royal Park. Québec City, too, is brimming with
history and unique character and a gastronomic walking tour, taking in the Plains of Abraham and the historic citadel, is hard to beat, . This city blends European charm with modern North American influences and offers world- class hotels like the Fairmont Château Frontenac, overlooking the St Lawrence River, plus many boutique hotels such as the Auberge Saint-Antoine.
Wildlife
Québec is a great spot for a wide variety of large sea mammals. Six species of pinnipeds (seals, etc) and 13
species of cetaceans (whales and dolphins) are attracted by the river's depth and its wealth of krill. Whale- watching cruises run from late May to early October in the St Lawrence River and your clients will be amazed by how many white beluga, humpback, fin, sperm, minke and blue whales they see. Québec also has black bears and moose. The bears can be found in their natural habitat from June to September near Québec City in the Duchesnay Resort (45 minutes away), or further afield in the Réserve Faunique des Laurentides. Some hotels offer evening bear observation activities. Moose are found in the Jacques-
Cartier National Park also just 45 minutes from the city. They are best seen in the early morning, so recommend a dawn lake kayak trip. There are also beaver, caribou, deer,
grey wolves, snow geese and northern gannets to spot in the province.
Food, glorious food Québec's gastronomy is of world renown and many claim it serves the best food in North America. Home- grown trendy, young chefs, using the best locally-produced ingredients, combine with French traditions and modern North American flavours to
Winter experiences Québec in winter offers skiing in Tremblant, just 90 minutes from Montréal. This pedestrianised village was purpose-built to be user-friendly. Other winter activities include skating and sledding across Montréal, snowshoeing in Mont Royal or perhaps tobogganing and dog-sledding somewhere like Sacacomie Lodge, in the Mauricie. Every January Québec City also hosts the biggest winter carnival perfect in combination with the Ice Hotel.
Great outdoor activities Québec has over 50 recreational areas protected and managed by government body, Sépaq, including the Jacques- Cartier, Mont Tremblant and Saguenay Fjord National Parks. These offer hiking, cycling and kayaking in spectacular scenery and accommodation in yurts, cabins and tree houses, an old monastery and a lighthouse. Highlight the ‘Route Verte’ too with over 5,000 km of bike paths.
