downtown, the Hôtel de Glace, or Ice Hotel, is a must-see from January to March, with huge snow vaults, ice sculptures and dazzling décor.
DUCHESNAY RESORT This year-round resort area is only 30 minutes from Québec City yet offers some 90 sq kms of natural landscapes to explore in numerous ways. Set by the shores of Lac Saint-
Joseph, the lodge-style L'auberge, provides a great base for winter activities including snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing, skating, ice- fishing, snow-mobiling and dog sledding. The latest addition to the range of activities is ski hok which combines the qualities of cross- country skiing and snowshoeing.
WENDAKE Just 10 minutes from Québec City, Wendake is the only Huron-Wendat community in Canada, and its attractions include the First Nations Hotel, designed to resemble a traditional longhouse, the Huron- Wendat Museum and the traditional Huron Site. Visitors can experience the traditional lifestyles for themselves and even overnight in the reconstructed longhouse complete with fur-lined bunks and campfires. They can also visit local artisans, sample traditional cuisine or experience live cultural entertainment.
SACACOMIE LODGE Located midway between Montréal and Québec City, Sacacomie Lodge is in the heart of the beautiful wilderness region of Mauricie. Guests staying here can explore
rolling hills, forests, lakes and valleys in
numerous ways. In winter it is fresh and white and offers the perfect terrain for snow-shoeing, dog-sledding and snowmobiling as well as snow tubing, skating, ice-driving and more. Having worked up an appetite, the
