Andrew Marshall of Strolling4Shoes, Cumbria,commented: “April continued where March left off. The weather in the Lakes has been perfect for shoe retailing and the sales have proved this. All brands are selling well but Skechers has flown out. We placed second and third drops, but pulled all these forward and were of stock by mid. June. Fly London, Mjus and Softinos continue to outperform many other brands. Men’s trade has continued to increase especially with Bugatti and Rieker. Hopefully we can keep trade up against some very healthy figures from last year, if so the season will be a success.”
Roger Hare of Middletons, Norfolk,said “Excellent weather during April enhanced sales, particularly ladies sandals. Nice increase on last year, customers generally more positive and much more relaxed, if they like the product then resistance to price is not the problem it was 12 months ago. Looking forward to a continuing excellent season.”
