stamping moulding process. The two most recent machines were delivered last
year and are 150 tonne HM 150/1000 ServoPower models, which feature Wittmann Battenfeld’s energy- saving servo pump system (the HM machine design is the successor to the CDC product line). Both are configured for thermoset processing and are equipped with Wittmann W821 robots and R8 controllers to handle insert placement and part removal. Wittmann also supplied the Tempro plusD temperature control- lers used to heat the injection barrel. Aside from the standard thermoset processing options, Wittmann Battenfeld has also modified the machines to run Winkelmann’s proprietary moulding sequence. These include the addition of an extra injection-stamping cylinder that compresses the cavity via a core during the injection process, as well as a number of additional monitoring functions.
