THE River Cruise Line’s 2014/15 brochure features five new itineraries, including three new festive options onboard four-star ms Serenity. There is a cruise featuring the Strasbourg Christmas
markets and a Christmas cruise on the Danube via Passau, Tulln, Bratislava and Budapest with Christmas Day in Vienna and prices start at £1099pp. Three-star ms Lady Anne has also added a Dutch
Towns and the Spring Gardens of Keukenhof cruise. Beginning in Arnhem, the seven-day itinerary visits Zutpher, Kampen and Lemmer and onto Franeker through Harlingen, Enkhuizen, Hoorn, Volendam and then an excursion to the Keukenhof gardens before ending the tour in Amsterdam. River cruising is dictated by the tides and fl ow of rivers throughout the year and understanding the river cruise calendar is vital when selling river cruising.
EX-UK ocean cruise specialist Cruise and Maritime Voyages (CMV) has diversified by launching its first river cruise programme this year. Featuring the 164-passenger riverboat Vienna 1, the
new programme cruises the Rhine and Danube rivers, and includes Grand European Discovery 14-night cruises between Amsterdam and Budapest. Seven- night sailings beginning or ending in Nuremberg are also available, as are optional pre- or post-cruise stays in Amsterdam or Budapest. CMV’s head of marketing Mike Hall says demand for
the new river cruise range has been strong. “Travelling in a floating hotel through some of Europe’s most beautiful and interesting places is bound to appeal to our customers,” he says.
