UK flocks to NZ

NEW Zealand’s western markets have led the way in pushing international visitor arrivals for the year-ending April 2014 to more than 2.78 million, up 6.1% year-on-year, with the UK enjoying a growth of 2.8%. UK visitors have been attracted by

New Zealand’s premium offering with a number of new boutique lodges and hotels, new cycling experiences linked to the newly-completed New Zealand Cycle Trail, the continuing impact of the country’s starring role in the Hobbit Trilogy and recent royal tour. Tourism New Zealand used the

recent TRENZ trade show in Auckland to announce a NZ$20 million extension to its Memorandum of Understanding with Air New Zealand. Next year’s TRENZ will be held in New Zealand’s birthplace of tourism Rotorua (May 17-20, 2015). newzealand.com
