BY ALAN ORBELL MORE details of new Hyatt properties were revealed at the hotel company’s recent workshop held in the Andaz Hotel in London. The group’s new global flagship property, the Park Hyatt New York, will open this summer
between 6th and 7th
on 57th Street Avenues
opposite Carnegie Hall. The 210- room/suite new-build hotel is being built for “high-end leisure travellers” according to Mike Gonsalves, Director of Entertainment/Fashion Sales. “The Hyatt will take up the first 26
storeys of the 96-storey building with only the 25th floor pool – with underwater piped music
from
Carnegie Hall – being shared space. “All rooms will have floor-to-ceiling
windows, there will be a butler service and we will offer the largest entry
level guest room in Manhattan.” The hotel will also feature artwork
curated by Sotheby’s and hand-woven carpets. August rates are expected to be in the high $700s/low $800s. Coming end 2015/2016 is the Park Zanzibar,
