Hire Tools & Equipment

Narrowing the GAP – Waltham Cross opens

for business National Hire Solutions Provider, GAP, has recently opened another ‘super depot’ in Waltham Cross, North of London. The new depot further strengthens the company’s presence in ‘London & the South East’, bringing the number of locations to 13 and making it GAP’s biggest region. The two acre site will host 5 of GAP’s 8 divisions namely, Plant & Tools, Lifting, Survey, Non-Mechanical Plant and Welfare Services. The Waltham Cross depot will provide customers in the area with an extensive range of quality, modern equipment, with over £1 million spent on the new premises and £6 million on hire equipment. Over the past few years, the south of England

as a whole has delivered substantial growth for GAP as a result of increased construction activity and a concerted investment in new depots and equipment. GAP also recently opened another ‘super depot’ in Bournemouth and has plans to open further strategic locations in the South East during 2014. Jon Rae, Operations Director commented;

“GAP’s presence in the south of England has strengthened significantly over the past few years. We have established the GAP brand across the area, and are now recognised as a major player in the South by national and local contractors alike. We are excited about having all five divisions working under one roof at Waltham Cross and pushing GAP forward as the market-leading hirer in the region.”

International (IPI), said he was delighted with the increase in size of the show: “We have filled up our original space allocation and are now able to expand the show because of the extra demand. A bigger, stronger show is good news for everyone. It expands the range of equipment on display for visitors and helps generate increased traffic for all the exhibitors. IRE, taken together with the APEX aerial platform show, gives rental companies a fantastic array of suppliers to visit at a single location over three days.” The IRE show, which is supported by the European Rental Association and

International Rental News (IRN), is being held at the RAI in an adjoining hall to the APEX aerial platform exhibition. Visitors registered for one of the shows will have free access to the other. More than 70 companies have signed up for IRE, including major names such as

JCB, Hitachi, Wacker Neuson, Volvo CE, Terex, Yanmar CE, Vermeer and Kubota. A full list can be found at the show website, www.IREshow.com. APEX exhibitors include Terex AWP, JLG Industries, Skyjack, Snorkel, Manitou, Merlo and many more.
