ith the UK recession causing an intense increase in market competition, many control panel builders tried to get ahead by reducing stock levels and adapting standard products to meet customer requirements. Despite reducing costs, streamlining the range of designs available has somewhat obvious limitations. Even with modification, customers can be restricted when it comes to specific requirements such as temperature control or prerequisites on space. Thanks to their partnership with Italian experts,
Fandis, Axair Fans in Staffordshire can offer panel builders a comprehensive portfolio of flexible and cost efficient thermal management solutions. One such solution
is Axair’s range of Fandis FPFA adaptors, a simple yet effective system that will free up space inside an enclosure without the need to downsize the fan or change any specification. Available in 3 sizes, the FPFA adaptors screw directly onto the cabinet, fan filter units and exhaust filters then simply clip-on to the spacer as normal.

Kentec joins the Circus A

wireless fire alarm system has been specially designed

performances in Munich with a Kentec fire alarm control panel at its heart. The wireless fire alarm system, believed to be the first of its type to be installed in Germany, is used to protect the tunnel between the main Circus Big-Top and the artiste dressing/holding tent during performances. Designers and installers Fire Systems Ltd had just three days to complete this unique installation, believed to be the first of its kind, before a fire safety inspection by Munich Fire Authorities.
The system, designed around a single loop Kentec Syncro AS analogue addressable fire alarm control
panel, uses Argus open communications protocol with Hyfire devices including one translator and two expanders to control twenty-two wireless sounder strobes and wireless manual call points.

ESP launches new analogue addressable fire protection range
aving successfully operated within the conventional fire systems market for 11 years, ESP has developed a comprehensive range of analogue addressable fire protection devices that takes the company into a brand new sector of the fire protection industry. The new Fireline MagPro range brings to existing and potential ESP customers a comprehensive product line up that is fully compliant with the very latest Construction Products Regulation 2011 (CPR) which came into force on 1st July 2013. Meeting all the regulatory criteria, the Fireline MagPro analogue addressable system is designed for larger system applications, overcoming the limitations of conventional fire alarm systems. With conventional systems each zone is wired using a separate circuit, to enable the source of a fire alarm to be identified. In the event of a fire alarm being triggered, the panel can only identify which zone contains the triggered device, it is then necessary to manually search the affected zone to discover the actual cause of the alarm.

Hochiki Europe launches new intrinsically safe compatible sounder module
ochiki Europe, the leading manufacturer of innovative life safety solutions, has announced the latest addition to its expanding range of intrinsically safe compatible devices – the CHQ-ISM sounder module. Hochiki Europe’s intrinsically safe devices are incapable of releasing sufficient electrical or thermal energy to cause the ignition of a specific hazardous atmospheric mixture in its most easily ignitable concentration. This is achieved by limiting the amount of power
available to the electrical equipment in the hazardous area to a level below that where ignition is possible. The low power levels also mean that there is no shock hazard due to excess thermal energy and arcing. With a similar look and feel as the standard modules in the range, the CHQ-ISM is designed for use in the ‘safe’ area of a hazardous area fire detection system and, therefore, does not require specialised certification.
