Accor converts three Mercure hotels to expand MGallery boutique range

Accor is to add three hotels to its MGallery Collection and upgrade six Mercure hotels to become flagship-standard properties in the UK by 2015. Mercure hotels in Windsor, Cheltenham and Aberdeen will be added to the upmarket, boutique brand MGallery, bringing the total number of properties in the UK under that brand to four. The properties being
converted into MGallery hotels are Mercure Aberdeen Ardoe House, Mercure Cheltenham Queen’s Hotel and Mercure Windsor Castle. The project is expected to be complete by the end of the year. The first MGallery Collection
property was the Francis Hotel in Bath. The company aims to have a total of 10 properties in the UK. Accor said the brand was aimed at “a demanding, pleasure-seeking clientele of experienced travellers”. It has 70 hotels in 22 countries. In addition to the MGallery

Belmond Hotel Cipriani opens Oro restaurant The Belmond Hotel Cipriani in Venice has reopened with a new restaurant overlooking the lagoon. Oro, which means gold in Italian, seats 40 people. It serves Italian-inspired dishes and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

the extension of the company’s management contract with Moorfield until 2032. Accor has operated 24 hotels in the UK for private equity company Moorfield since 2007.
