Belle Isle, FL – Belle Isle, FL recently obtained new 2013 Harley-Davidson® motorcycles for their traffi c unit, replacing a 2007 H-D Road King® motorcycle. The motorcycles were funded by a $35,000 donation from Picerne Development Corporation, a local business associated with the city. Though the community is small, it has a high volume of commuter traffi c each day. Belle Isle borders the northwest corner of Orlando International Airport, which used to be McCoy Air Force Base. After the government transitioned the airport to the City of Orlando, a monument was established for the bomber wing that was based there. The B-52 that is the backdrop for the Belle Isle traffi c unit is on static display. The motor offi cers pictured, Offi cer Eric Jones (left) and Offi cer Rob Ladoczky (right) each have over 10 years of motor unit experience.

“During my 36-year law enforcement career, I had served over 17 years on motors so I am especially proud of our traffi c unit.” states Chief Tom Jackson. These new bikes are awesome and were special-ordered in the blue/silver package, and we coordinated the motor uniform and helmet colors to match. The light gray shirt helps relieve some of the Florida sun in the summers. Being in Central Florida and close to many tourist attractions, quite often foreign visitors will stop and ask to take pictures of our motor offi cers and their Harley-Davidson® Chief Tom Jackson.
