Harley-Davidson Assembly Plant an Interesting Visit for All!

re you looking for a great destination for a road trip this year? How about considering the Harley-Davidson factory in York, PA? If you have never been there and taken the plant tour, you are in for an awesome experience! Established as an assembly facility in
1973, Harley-Davidson Vehicle Operations in York assembles the Touring, Softail® Trike and CVO™ models. There are also
,
a variety of manufacturing operations conducted there such as creating frames, fuel tanks and fenders. The free factory tour leads you through the assembly line
and designated fabrication areas. Tours begin at regular intervals between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and last approximately one hour. The factory tour begins with an introductory video and continues on to the factory floor where you will get a behind-the-scenes view of the people, processes and products of Vehicle Operations. Your guide will take you through the manufacturing of key components and the assembly of the Softail®
, Touring
(including Police motorcycles!), Trike and CVO™ motorcycles. Then it’s on to the end of the line where every motorcycle is roll-tested prior to shipping. For a more in-depth factory tour, explore the Steel Toe Tour, a two-hour fee-based tour that features smaller groups, an extensive tour route in the factory and lots of amenities. At the Vaughn L. Beals Tour Center you will explore
exhibits that detail the manufacturing and assembly pro- cesses of the factory. You will also have the opportunity to sit on current-year motorcycles and visit the gift shop for tour-related souvenirs. The Kids Corner, a specially designed area for children under the age of 12, makes the York facility
