MieleProfessional reveals newdishwasher range

Neil Nixon attended the launch event to find out what is so different about this new range of freshwater dishwashers.

Miele Professional has launched its next generation in professional dishwashers - a freshwater systemthat is designed to offer outstanding results. The range comprises threemodels - Hygiene, Brilliant, and Speed Plus, all utilisingMiele’s tried-and- tested freshwater system. Fresh water is introduced during each wash phase and during the rinsing process.

Hygiene

The Hygiene dishwasher guarantees per- fectly clean crockery and cutlery for the care industries and hospitals, ensuring that the risk of infection in these high-risk envi- ronments is kept at bay. The temperature of the water in themain wash is 60oC, whilst the final rinse takes place at 83oC, held for fiveminutes. The design of themachine also helps

users to keep their working environment clean and free fromthe threat of super- bugs. The smooth and crevice-free operat- ing console - a stainless-steel surface without any push buttons - is extremely simple to clean, and there are 13 different programmes to choose from. This console also doubles up as a handle to open and close the door. Excellent user convenience also comes fromseveral innovations which are exclusive toMiele Professional. Before the start of a programme, themachine is automatically closed by the AutoClose fea- ture, and the new steamcondenser guar- antees a roommicro-climate by reducing the amount of hot,moisture-laden air re- leased fromthemachine once the washing cycle is complete. Thismeans that even when the AutoOpen function opens the door, only a limited amount of steamis re- leased, allowing even plastic items of crockery to dry. The washed load cools down fast, allowing themachine to be un- loaded and reloaded quickly. LesMarshall, sales andmarketing direc-

tor atMiele Professional, said: “Dishwash- ers with thermal disinfection and speed cycles have long been a focus forMiele Professional and they all have proven re- sults. Our new Hygiene dishwasher is our next generation in dishwashing and is an exciting development for the care and hos- pital sector. With the ever increasing threat of superbugs andmega viruses, facilities managers in these environments need to be extremely careful about what equipment they choose. With the Hygiene dishwasher, you can be certain that everything you put in to be cleaned will be thermally disinfec- ted at a high heat and ready for safe re-use.” The Hygiene dishwasher also features a

new and patented salt container with a ca- pacity of 2 kg. This tank is located in the door and is no longer tucked away below the cabinet. Thismakes refilling the salt container extremely simple: it can be done without having to bend or stoop and without having to remove the lower basket either, whichmay well be heavy and fully loaded.

gently. Demineralised water prevents water stains andmeans that glasses do not need to be polishedmanually once the cleaning cycle has come to an end. A further fea- ture, ‘Perfect GlassCare’ automatically adapts water hardnessmaking it ideal for whatever glassware the user is washing. LesMarshall continued: “We are really

proud to launch the new Brilliantmachine to the UKmarket. It’s the perfectmachine for any hospitality business that wants their customers to experience perfect, sparkling glassware and gleaming cutlery during every visit. Plus, we’re excited to offer a freshwatermachine with a short cycle time of just 5minutes.”

Speed Plus

The range comprises three models - Hygiene, Brilliant, and Speed Plus, all utilising Miele’s tried-and-tested freshwater system. Fresh water is introduced during each wash phase and during the rinsing process.

The Hygienemachine not only receives

topmarks for safety, hygiene and user con- venience, but also for speed and economy as well. The 'Super Short' programme is finished in just fiveminutes and requires only 0.25 kWh of electricity in the process - 17%less than on the previousmodel range.

Brilliant

The Brilliant dishwasher guarantees spot- less glassware and cutlery and eradicates the need formanual polishing in hotels, pubs, bars and restaurants. Themachine produces immaculate results and save businesses time andmoney by eliminating time spent on polishing glassware by hand. Themachine, which has 13 wash pro- grammes, also has a fast cycle time of five minutes, meaning that themachine is ideal for bars and restaurant kitchens that need to washmany glasses to a high standard, several times a day. Recent research [1] has shown that

clean, sparkling glasses are top of the pub- lic’s agenda when wining and dining - of the 2000 consumers surveyed, nearly a third (32%) said that if they were to experi- ence dirty glasses, crockery or cutlery it’s very unlikely that they would return to the same establishment, whilst nearly nine in 10 (88%) said that clean glassware, crock- ery and cutlery was very important to them. Alongside two inlet valves for hot and cold

water, the new Brilliant washer also has a third connection for fully or partially dem- ineralised water.Water with a lowmineral content is used during the rinse cycle in the new 'Glassware Special' programme which operates at amaximumtemperature of 50°C to ensure that glasses are washed

The Speed Plus dishwasher excels with short cycle times of as little as fivemin- utes, without compromising the cleanliness of the load. The Speed Plusmachine pro- duces immaculate results in record time. Themachine, which has 11 wash pro- grammes, also has a high capacity of up to 456 plates per hour in the lower basket with further items of crockery in the upper basket, meaning that it is ideal for hotels, restaurants, offices and schools who need to run up to 40 cycles per day. The shortest cycle time of fiveminutes is

partly achieved through the use of a new electronically controlled heater pump. With an output of 8.5 kW, this pump heats the water as it passes on its way to the cabinet. Water is discharged and replaced in each phase of the programme cycle. A fast and efficientmachine, the Speed

dishwasher also saves on energy costs. Re- duced cycle times result in considerable energy savings. The ‘short’ and ‘universal’ programmes, for example, require just 0.1 kWh per cycle, cutting previous require- ments by half. Dishwashing capacities on the newmod-

els have increased by 20%and, despite the condensed cycles, thesemachines can wash two baskets every time. Furthermore, the new versatile standard wire basket can take significantly larger loads than before. This dishwasher has been designed with

the user inmind. The 11 programmes are set using touch controls and the threemost frequently used programmes can be saved as favourites, launched at the touch of a fingertip using the quick selection button. LesMarshall said: “The innovative Speed

machine is designed with our customer’s needs inmind. This energy saving dish- washer has one of our fastest running cy- cles and yetmaintains the high quality of cleanliness at the end of it. Easy to use and innovatively designed, thismachine is per- fect for any business that requires a high load and fast turnaround, whether that be in the hospitality, catering, facilitiesman- agement or the education sector.”
