Laut dem Vorsitzenden der Kommission sollten das Casino auf Korfu, in Xianthi und auf der Insel Syros ihre Lizenzen verlieren, wenn sie ihre Schulden nicht bezahlten. Zusammen schulden diese Casinos dem griechischen Staat bis zu € 10 Mio. an Lizenzgebühren.

Inspired signs Spanish VLT agreement with R. Franco


SPAIN Inspired Gaming Group (Inspired), has signed an exclu- sive agreement with R.Franco to supply its Open SBG Core tech- nology platform and games in Spain.


The deal will allow R. Franco and Inspired to create server-based VLT gaming machines for the Spanish market by combining


Inspired’s technology, R.Franco’s cabinets, and a rich library of games from both companies. The early results of the collaboration were recently displayed on the Inspired and R.Franco stands at the ICE Totally Gaming trade show in London.

Romania Three gambling operators and the Romanian National Lottery have been sanctioned after signing an agreement that would have effectively given the gambling operators a monopoly on video lottery operations. The agreement included a non-compete clause, stipulating that the state-run lottery is forbidden to take on any other partners for similar video-lottery programs for a period of ten years. The gambling operators and the Romanian National Lottery are required to pay a total of € 3.76 million in fines. Romanian lawmakers are also debating a new gambling taxation system, which would include higher fees for operators and players. Currently the Romanian gambling law imposes a 25 per cent tax on all gambling winnings but authorities have found that they do not have a system for monitoring these incomes efficiently. There is currently no way of telling how much players pocket each time they play slot machines, video lottery terminals, fixed- odds betting terminals or even casino and table games. Lawmakers have been considering eliminating the tax and replacing it with higher fees.
