Richard T. “Dick” Swenson, M.D., 72, Houston, died as the result of an automobile accident Dec. 7, 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Jane Swenson; broth- er, Gerald Swenson; and numerous other relatives. Sw- enson was a former member of the Texas Angus Asso- ciation board of directors.

TSCRA Honorary Director Vester Smith, 91, of Higgins, died Dec. 20, 2013, in Amarillo. He was born July 20,
1922, in McLean to Verna and Vester Smith and gradu- ated from McLean High School in 1939. He attended Texas Tech University and graduated with a degree in government in 1943. While at Tech he met and married Martha Price of Pampa; they were married 71 years. Smith served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He and Martha moved to Higgins with their 3 children in 1950 where he was engaged in ranching with his father- in-law Willis Price. In 2005 the American Quarter Horse Association presented Vester with the Legacy Award for 50 consecutive years of horse registration. He is sur- vived by his wife, sons Willis and Steve Smith, daughter Kay Guleke, and numerous other relatives. TSCRA Honorary Vice President Mrs. T.L. Roach Jr. (Rosemary), 86, died Dec. 27, 2013, in Amarillo. She
was born Sept. 11, 1927, in Amarillo to Harvey and Olga Carter Allen and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1945. She graduated from Christian College, Columbia, Mo., in 1947 and received a Bachelors of Arts degree in 1949 from The University of Texas in Austin. In 1950, she married T. L. Roach Jr. She was involved in business op- erations of Roach Oil Co. & Ashtola Exploration Co., the T.L. Roach and Son Allen Creek Ranch, and was owner of TxAire Charter Service. She is survived by 2 daughters, Susan Roach and Sheri Brosier and husband Scott, all of Amarillo; son Tom L. Roach III and wife Annie of Mon- tana; six grandchildren and numerous other relatives. Memorials may be made to the T.L.
