Phase Electrical Distributors is in the top 1000
Sussex and Kent has been recognised by the London stock exchange group in a report detailing ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’. The publication identifies some of the
P
fastest growing and most dynamic small and medium sized companies that met with the demanding criteria set to prove sustained growth in not only size of business but also number of staff employed and workspace.
Company growth The company has seen a large amount of
growth in the previous two years when many businesses have been struggling. Turnover has risen from £7 million to a predicted £11 million this year with employed staff increasing from 45 to 60 in the same period. The opening of two branches and a new website department has helped enormously with this growth. Many of the companies that made the

final 1000 are household names including Mulberry, Jack Wills, Hunter boots, Cath Kidston and Aardman Animations.
Tremendous honour Simon Millard, Director of Phase Electrical
Distributors Ltd said: “As a company it is a tremendous honour to be recognised in such a prestigious publication. We are continually looking for ways to develop and grow our business which I believe is a contributing factor for our inclusion. The expansion of our branch network and the level of staff employment are at the forefront of this growth. We also work very hard to make sure that the levels of growth are sustainable, working closely with our bank and accountants. “To be the only electrical wholesaler
mentioned within the list makes us extremely proud. This is a culmination of the hard work and dedication all of our staff show, helping us in achieving this honour.”

Switching hits end of year high N
ew switching numbers show that around a million customers sought
out energy deals in November and December last year. This compares to 3.5 million switches for the whole of 2013. Energy UK Chief Executive Angela Knight said the figures, independently compiled by Electralink, demonstrates that industry reforms are working. She said: “Increased switching is a welcome sign that the energy industry is becoming more competitive, clearer and working for its consumers. There has been a sharp increase in the number of customers switching and those shopping around for a deal which suits their individual circumstances. Competition is alive and well with people choosing new entrants to the market and smaller suppliers rather than just sticking with established companies. “When choosing a supplier there are plenty
of options available, but it always pays to shop around and find a deal that works best for you.”
