New heat recovery unit from Xpelair

Cable management made better

Crabtree has introduced two new aesthetically pleasing cable management solutions to its already extensive range of quality electrical products. A compact range of PVC trunking and accessories called COMPAK together with a high cabling capacity range called MAXPAK that fully meet the requirements for Cat 5E, 6, 6A and 7 cables, is now available after being entirely designed, developed and manufactured in the UK and Europe. The new Crabtree trunking has a clean unobtrusive style that helps it blend into its surroundings, and with a clever open access design, provides full cable support during cabling for both top and bottom compartments. Both variants come with truly flexible internal and external corners to provide for the

Xpelair Ventilation Solutions has launched the Xcell Stratum low profile heat recovery unit, designed to be exceptionally installer friendly thanks to its integral fixing points and lightweight EPP design. The range is part of Xpelair’s popular Xcell

range and is available in four models to suit a variety of applications and ventilation needs within new builds and refurbishments. Made from B1 rated EPP structural

material, the Stratum range is significantly lighter than metal cased units. The high U value also means there is no cold bridging whilst the low profile of the units, ranging from 170-305mm depending on ventilation needs, require less space, time and effort to install. Key technical aspects of the new Stratum

range include long life ultra-efficient EC motors and 88-90% heat recovery, resulting in market leading efficiency. The units also include integrated programmable, multiple- speed control units for greater control over ventilation rates, along with built-in frost protection and 100% summer bypass on some models. Stratum also features Xpelair’s F5 G4

filters that ensure superior IAQ levels, which help to not only aid the health and wellbeing of inhabitants, but also protect the fabric of buildings.

everyday reality that walls are not always 90 degree true. In addition, the corners offer ribbed inside supports ensuring cables are smoothly guided to prevent kinking and twisting and thus maximising data transmission performance and importantly presenting no capacity reduction at all. Crabtree MAXPAK offers the deepest trunking in its class with a depth of 65mm and enables better handling of power and data cables, offering a data cable capacity over 10% more than its nearest competitor.

This year’s Ecobuild (ExCeL, London, 4-6 March) will see Polypipe Ventilation (Stand No. N2120) display its full range of energy saving ventilation products, including the Silavent Green Line range of centralised mechanical ventilation appliances, alongside the next generation of Domus Radial duct systems and a new stylish Silavent axial fan offering. The Domus Radial semi-rigid duct system has been re-engineered by Polypipe to

incorporate a new innovative 125mm deep manifold – less than half the depth of the former version, its ultra slimline size makes it ideal for installation between loft joists or in tight spaces. The smaller manifold size also allows for greater location flexibility, removing the need to place the manifold adjacent to the centralised appliance. To maximise air flow and versatility the new Radial manifold can now also be

integrated with Domus rigid duct systems by connecting directly from the centralised appliance through Domus Megaduct 220x90mm or Domus Easipipe Ø150mm ducting. As an added benefit to the homeowner the Radial system also features a dual outlet plenum, designed to reduce duct resistance and improve appliance operation and efficiency. Polypipe’s intermittent extract fan range will also be exhibited this year.

Marshall-Tufflex has produced new brochures aimed specifically at contractors and specifiers requiring high performance Cat 6 compliant trunking or steel cable management. The British manufacturer believes it has a well-designed, hard-wearing and installer-friendly solution for almost any project. For Cat 6 installations Marshall-Tufflex has 10 products, all outlined in the new brochure ‘Cat 6

Compliant Trunking Systems’. This easy to use guide includes images, measurements, cable capacities and bend radius details for each of the profiles, including unique Odyssey all-curved profile, Twin 165 (which provides greater space for data cabling), to extra high capacity Sterling XL. Marshall-Tufflex has also just re-designed its steel range, System 130 and System 170, removing the

internal ‘C’ rail in both and replacing it with a multi-purpose clip that slots quickly and easily into position. The clips can be used to hold dividing fillets, transforming the trunking from a single channel to two or three compartments. Information about the updated range is contained in the new brochure ‘Steel Trunking Systems’ which details the systems’ basic

components, fittings, bonding assemblies and accessories/boxes plus product order numbers and diagrams. uwww.marshall-tufflex.com
