Entering the yard at Strasburg, Pa.,Canadian National No. 89 eases past a string of vintage freight cars on February 16, 2014. The freight cars are part of the Strasburg Rail Road’s fleet of vintage equipment used for photo charters.

event or quiet time along a short line, you may want to participate in what has be come a favorite annual feature here at R&R. Each year in the May issue, we run a special PHO- TO LINE featuring images taken during the preceding calendar year, and we invite you to submit photos for consideration in our Along the Rails 2013 feature. The photos can be of a newsworthy event (which you proba- bly should have submitted to RAILNEWS when it happened), a special excursion, or simply just a pretty picture. The only requirement is that it was taken in 2013 of a railroad sub- ject (foreign subjects are fine).

The guidelines for submitting are simple.
