GDS in the Starting Blocks as Kick-Off Event March Edition once again features Numerous Highlights 1

2 to 14 March 2014 will see one more edition of GDS in its familiar form before it is brought forward to July 2014 offering a kick-off event with an early preview of the

season. In March some 800 exhibitors from over 30 countries will be showcasing current shoe fashion for the 2014/15 Autumn/Winter season. The same location but one day earlier than GDS sees the holding of the sourcing trade fair GLOBAL SHOES. Here 300 exhibitors here will present their collections at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre from 11 to 14 March.

The previous GDS concept will be saying

goodbye with an exciting range – including the new shoe line Lara Hampton by Bruno Bordese. For the first time now, the over one century old shoemaking firm Rizzolli will be represented with elegant women’s and men’s shoes. T&F Slack Shoemaker London will be showcasing colourful brogues and the Delle Cose label will be presenting its new bag collection. Classy men’s shoes are in focus at Dutch label Melik/Sergio Paganelli. Located in Vienna designer label rosa mosa stands for extravagant shoe collections: featuring innovative, wearable and functional shoes for men and women made of natural materials, largely handmade in small series.

Newcomers in the children’s segment include

French supplier Little Mary and Italy’s Asso S.r.l. with the Asso, Didi Blu and Laura Biagiotti

Full Supporting Programme at GDS In addition to the exhibition stands at GDS

visitors can look forward to a wide range of fashion shows, lectures and events. Celebrating a special anniversary is the trendy Design Attack area now already in its 20th edition. Since 2004 Design Attack has regularly surprised visitors with a topical motto and suitable stand concept. Each time up-and-coming designers are treated here to an elaborately staged setting for showcasing their products. The motto of the 20th anniversary edition is ALPINE ROCKERS’ BARN. The exciting mix of independent fashion, urban and underground streetwear plus accessories and lifestyle products is this time set against the backdrop of idyllic country life in the Alps combined with roaring motorbike sounds and gritty rockers. Forming the focus of the spectacle is a historic fair with a traditional Alpine hut and dance floor.

HDS/L Award Ceremony HDS/L will be in a ceremonial mood at GDS.

The Federal Association of the German Footwear and Leather Goods Industry (Bundesverband der Schuh- und Lederwarenindustrie) will be presenting its awards the “German Shoe Prize”

and the “HDS/L Junior Award”. Furthermore, for the fourth time now a key celebrity will also be voted Shoe Wearer of the Year.

schedule (30 July to 1 August 2014) and a new approach. This will make GDS the kick-off event, offering visitors a comprehensive overview at the start to the season.
