HIGHLIGHTS OF BURMA Day 1 Fly from the UK to Rangoon. Day 2 Arrive Rangoon; free afternoon to take your first look around Burma.
Day 3 Enjoy a guided tour of Rangoon, including the amazing Shwedagon Pagoda and colonial buildings around the city. Fly to Heho, near to Inle Lake.
Days 4 & 5 Long-tail boat trip on Inle Lake, seeing the unique fishermen leg-rowers, floating gardens and markets, and meeting local artisans and villagers.
Day 6 Local train to Kalaw, stopping en route to visit the Myinmathi Cave with mini stupas and Buddha images.
Day 7 Trek to local villages, seeing tea plantations en route. Learn about traditions, costume and culture over lunch with a local family.
Days 8 & 9 Take the road to Mandalay, journey by boat to the home of the world’s largest book, the Kuthodaw Pagoda, and enjoy the sunset from Mandalay Hill.
Day 10 Explore the ancient capitals of Amarapura and Inwa. Day 11 Take a ferry to Bagan.
Day 12 Horse-drawn carriage ride among Bagan’s temples, and meet locals at Phya Saw Village.
Day 13 Explore Bagan further, including Wetkyi-in Gubyaukgy, a 13th century cave temple with interesting frescoes. Fly back to Rangoon. Day 14 Fly to the UK.
