Brazil
Spanning half of South America, Brazil achieves a wonderful medley of vibrant colours, exotic flavours and Latino rhythms. Incredible wildlife lives side-by-side native tribes in the Amazonian rainforest and thick jungle parts to reveal the heaving Iguazu Falls. Rio de Janeiro
Rio - as the city is more lovingly known – boasts such iconic landmarks as the giant statue of Christ the Redeemer atop Corcovado Mountain. The white sands of Copacabana Beach stretch for 4 km before giving way to steep granite mountains covered with tropical forest. This, and the panoramic views as a cable car whisks you to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain, explain why Rio’s spectacular natural setting is second to none.

Salvador
Referred to as Brazil’s ‘capital of happiness’, the city of Salvador has an atmosphere that is electric: Portuguese and African ancestry blend with Brazilian culture to create a vibrant, cosmopolitan atmosphere. Stroll amid the colourful architecture by day or pick a beautiful stretch of sandy beach. By night sample some of the spicy Bahian cuisine and listen to the streets come alive with music.

Pantanal
The Pantanal’s rivers, tree canopies and wetlands are home to hundreds of species of birds, thousands of brightly- coloured butterflies and some of the world’s most intriguing mammals. Explore by day or night, by boat, horse, open safari truck or on foot, in search of jaguars; the Pantanal is one of the best places in the world to sight them.

Iguazu
Cascading down a 3 km expanse of the Iguazu River, the Iguazu Falls on the Argentinian-Brazilian border are undoubtedly one of the most dramatic displays in the world. Emerging from thick jungle onto panoramic walkways, the sheer height and noise of the thundering water will take your breath away.
HIGHLIGHTS: Walk jungle trails through Iguazu National Park, jet boating to the jaw of the falls.
Tropical beaches of Paraty and Praia do Forte
A focal point during the Brazilian gold rush, Paraty is now a visual delight of whitewashed architecture, colonial churches and cobbled streets. The 65 pristine islands dotted off the coast provide much of the area’s natural beauty. One of the country’s most beautiful bays can be found along the coast in Praia do Forte , where you can visit the ecological reserve for protected turtles.

Amazon
The Amazon is a vast patchwork of channels, archipelagos and dense jungle. Using an eco-lodge as a base for daily excursions is an ideal way to see some of the Amazonian rainforest’s fascinating wildlife, from anacondas to caimans and jaguars. Friendly local guides can also offer you an insight into the native tribes who have made the wild jungle their home.
