re-charging to their clients (law and accountancy); and much more beside. A year ago, HRG grouped its marine, offshore and workforce travel sector clients under HRG Logistics and, similarly, meetings, groups and events under MGE, and this has attracted additional business. “We were seen to have the expertise because we launched the service,” says HRG’s global client management director Matthew Pancaldi. “You have to work really hard to persuade customers that you have the knowledge, experience and global reach,” he explains. Paula Cullen and Mike Crotty, meanwhile, showed total faith in the future of the travel management company by setting up Incorporate in April last year – and they have already opened a second office. “We feel it is an exceptionally good
time to come into the market, with airline content becoming more complex, specifically around IATA and NDC,” says Paula Cullen. “Historically, the industry has built
blocks on to systems, particularly the GDS, but we are not hampered by legacy systems and processes, and are building our own platform, which will enable us to be incredibly agile.” And she adds: “It is going to be harder
for individuals to compare apples with apples, so the expertise of a travel man- agement company will grow in value.”
