Rehau opens moulding plant to supply Audi

Germany’s Rehau has opened a new automotive injection moulding plant at Györ in Hungary to supply bumpers direct to Audi’s assembly operations. The 24,000m2

represents a €50m investment for the company. It is its 15th automotive production operation and takes its total number of production plants worldwide to 41. Rehau has assembled

bumpers for Audi at Györ since 2005, supplying to its local plant. The new investment will allow it to take on injection moulding locally. The new injection moulding plant also uses an in-house developed painting line that employs a low emission CO2 cleaning technology. The company will be moulding, painting and assembling bumper modules for direct JIT supply to the Audi production lines for the A3 saloon and convertible, TT and Q7 models.
