OFF THE RECORD THE RECORD

This week Ford had a real car compete with its virtual counterpart and MCV looks into the strange world of games industry Tomodachi Life

MAN VS MACHINE

If one series is known for chasing realism, it’s Sony’s racing franchise Gran Turismo. Last week Ford held an event at Goodwood

Festival of Speed to show off its new Focus ST. And to showcase its new ride, the car company

raced it. Against the Focus ST’s virtual counterpart on GT6. It was a tight race around the 1.16 mile track, but

the real car outdid the virtual vehicle – if only by a mere one tenth of a second. Now, we’re not here to call foul, but the real car DID have former Stig Ben Collins behind the wheel. And we all know that Top Gear’s racers have magical powers.
