THE LEGO MOVIE WHAT IS IT?
LEGO construction worker Emmet is leading a boring life in the plastic city of Bricksburg. This is until he stumbles across a woman with brightly coloured hair called Wyldstyle – no, she’s not a DJ – and together they discover a magical relic called the Piece of Resistance, capable of stopping a superweapon called the Kragle. Along the way the duo are chased
by Bad Cop, the confl icted servant of the evil Lord Business, and encounter a variety of LEGO characters, including Batman, Gandalf, Unikitty and... Benny the 1980s space man.
Chris Pratt voices the hyperactive hero of the kids’ fi lm based on the toy bricks
WHY SHOULD I STOCK THIS? The LEGO Movie opened to almost universal acclaim. The fi lm was praised for its strong and witty writing as well as its social satire. The entire fi lm is animated in a manner reminiscent of stop-motion, while character voices are provided by some of Hollywood’s fi nest, including Chris Pratt as protagonist Emmett. Meanwhile, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks and Will Arnett voice Lord Business, Wyldstyle and Batman. The fi lm joins the success of the LEGO series of games, with Warner Bros recently announcing that the franchise sold over 1.6m units in 2013.

FRESH from his success on powerhouse TV series Breaking Bad, Aaron Paul stars as racing car driver extraordinaire Tobey Marshall in a loose adaptation of the eponymous series of street racing games. Despite a critical panning when it
released in March, Need For Speed still managed to make $203m (£118.4m) globally and could well provide a petrol-guzzling, engine- roaring distraction for NFS fans lamenting the lack of a new game in the long-running series this year.
