ADVERTORIAL

Popular designs which families have already chosen include adding a special sparkle to ribbons and bows on a craft-inspired picture coffin, shiny crystal buckles for a shoe fashion lover and glitter shimmer on an almost edible cupcake picture coffin.

One of the most beautiful designs was a white

coffin covered in deep, dark red roses, with crystals used to edge the petals as if a shower of rain had passed quickly by. It was, says Mary, one of the most stunning designs the team has worked on. The new range is suitable for a variety of

coffin styles. The crystals, rhinestones and glitter can be applied to any of Colourful Coffins’ own wooden coffins for burial and the team has also linked up with the London Casket Company to enable clients to choose a Glitz and Glamour design on its metal coffins. Having developed a special technique for applying a soft glitter sheen to London Casket Company’s metal caskets, it means these are now available for the first time in beautiful pinks and a variety of other soft shades. These make the perfect backdrop for applying

a more dramatic design, such as sparkling cut-out butterflies and hearts in a contrasting deeper colour. Derek Gibbs, managing director of the

London Casket Company, said: “These caskets

look absolutely beautiful. They are on display in our showroom and have created a great deal of interest. It’s lovely to be able to tell families that they are a complete one-off, which makes them very special.” The Glitz and Glamour designs are available

on London Casket Company’s Ashley children’s casket and the Devotion adult casket, both of which are only suitable for burial. In addition, the handles can be painted to

complement the design and glitter or diamanté crystals applied, while the interiors of the caskets can also be personalised, with many families now choosing a photograph of a loved one surrounded by crystals on the inside of the lid. As well as being available for picture coffin

designs, the Glitz and Glamour techniques can also be used on cremated remains caskets and

memory boxes. Mary said: “Many families like to have a

cremated remains casket which shares its design with the picture coffin and we can now make beautiful crystal and rhinestone designs for the caskets as well as the picture coffins themselves. “Memory boxes are also increasingly popular

for families who want somewhere for all their keepsakes. Having a memory with a favourite design makes it that extra bit special and if the sparkles and glitter bring a smile to your face, then so much the better.” To find out more about the Glitz and Glamour range, which is available to order through funeral directors, please visit www. colourfulcoffins.com or call 01865 779172.
