for realwomen! Fake Bake have announced the winners of their Real Women Fake It competition, which aimed to find six new faces of the sunless tanning brand.


The winners were: Chloe Gamblin who slimmed from a size 20 to a size 14, teen mum India Miles, army medic Kathryn Adam, Gemma Flanagan who suffers from Gullain Barre Syndrome which has left her disabled, farmer Alice Dyer and charity worker Nichola Cannon.


The competition was judged by TOWIE’s Sam Fairers and Big Brother’s Josie Gibson, and the winners will be part of the brand’s new Real Women Fake It Advertising campaign.

The brains and beauty behind Caron Wax and Waxxxpress shared her famous Caron technique at classes in Urban Wax, Essential Beauty, Body Beautiful, BAAM Cosmetics and Finnstown Country House Hotel. Lilliane was accompanied by expert waxing trainer, Juanita Bennett.


Lilliane’s visit coincided with the launch of the world’s very first powdered hard wax, the Masqua by Caron Laboratories, developed using Advanced Micro Cellophane Technology™.

launches book Anti-ageing skin care pioneer Dr Des Fernandes and writer Jennifer Munro launched their first book Your Skin Factory recently to great reviews from beauty therapists and skin specialists.

The authors presented highlights to a packed audience of 500 beauty professionals at the event in London, hosted by the International Institute for Anti-Ageing (iiaa). Annette Coyle, from beauty and make-up studio Skin in Contarf, Dublin flew to London to attend the event, and told IB: “The seminar with Dr. Des was, as always, very insightful. The new book is full of helpful tips for the clients that are really interested in creating healthy skin. It’s also a great tool to have in salon as the visuals are an excellent way to spike an interest in new clients. He shows real passion with every new product he develops and we are extremely excited to see his new peptide-enriched power products.”

The book is one of a series that is currently being written, with topics including needling, sunwise skin care and effective skin analysis in the pipeline.

Showcasing lovely lashes


NovaLash Eyelash Extensions USA held a launch event at The Metropolitan Hotel, London to mark the opening of its UK and Ireland office. NovaLash celebrity lash artist Sophia Navarro showcased the NovaLash technique, along with the brand’s Signature Retail Line, patented AirNova drying machine and Candied Lashes for the upcoming festive season.


NovaLash will no longer be sold through a distributor in Ireland, meaning that you can now directly train and purchase products through NovaLash’s corporate office located in the UK, with training sessions set to expand across Ireland in 2014.
