Many of those who sponsored recruited their friends and family to join in this wonderful project! Needless to say, the amount of merit created collectively as a group is ENORMOUS, especially when done during such an auspicious karma-multiplying period! Te positive karma is not limited to just this period, it continues to be generated long after printing and this is because for EVERY PERSON this booklet is given and each time they chant or share any of the mantra/sutras from this booklet, everyone who had anything to do with this book gains additional karmic merit, so as you can see, the benefits increase exponentially! For this edition, we had hoped to raise enough to print 10,000 copies. Lillian had already planned to underwrite the project regardless of how much we could raise, but our project was so over-subscribed that we were able to increase the number of pages in the booklet to keep all the mantras in the 3rd edition as well as fit in many additional powerful prayers!
What was very touching wasn’t just the amounts pledged (which ranged from very small sums to thousands of dollars per person), but how genuinely humble and nice all those who responded were; even writing such kind and lovely notes to thank us for this wonderful opportunity to create merit for themselves and their family! Te largest and most surprising sponsor of all came from my nephew JACK YEO (Jennifer’s son) who pledged almost all his angpow money collected over the years towards this highly meritorious project! It was truly a humbling experience that the power of the Buddhas can awaken such fervent devotion and kindness from this little boy and these gentle people… I was very moved reading some of their beautiful words. The NEW EDITION “Chant a Mantra, Read a
Sutra, Say a Prayer” will continue to feature all the mantras in the 3rd edition but it has been amped up with ADDITIONAL prayers and invocations shared with us by our
precious Nyingma Guru Khenpo Delek Rinpoche. Lillian and her team worked very hard to compile, revise and edit this new edition. Here is a preview of the additions that have been included: Te fourth edition of Chant-a-Mantra will be sent to
