SHOWCASE Wireless Security Hub

-Ident SECURITY HUB Type RX-GSM-GPS is a low cost, wireless alarm system capable of monitoring 1000’s of tags simultaneously and sending an SMS alert when a warning is triggered. When a tag or alert is triggered, an alarm will be raised locally via the siren or volt free contact. Up to 3 Users can also be remotely notified by SMS message – The recipient will be notified the details of the tag/alert that has triggered. Resetting the alarm can be done remotely by a Mobile Phone or locally via an in-range Reset Tag. Each receiver is housed in a compact IP65 casing and can be connected to a PC via a USB Cable to setup the module. (PC software included). There are multiple tag types and every tag can have a different function so multiple variables can be monitored simultaneously. We currently have Lone worker, Vehicle Location Monitoring, Truck-Trailer contents monitoring, Water Flow / Usage monitoring, Diesel Tank Monitoring, Security Monitoring - Magnetic Door Monitoring, Vibration / Motion sensing, Engine Start / Vehicle Theft, Door / Gate monitoring Tags and Fleet management when using the optional GPS Each tag has a unique ID so any variables that are being monitored can be easily located. The battery level of every tag is monitored and a warning is sent if any are too low. Nominal battery life is up to 6-8 years per Tx tag.

ervo motors are often connected with M23 connectors - these compact connectors have become more established as standards rather than terminal boxes. They are by far the most common connection system. Murrelektronik now offers power cables and signal cables (size 1.0) in top quality. They seal tightly, resist shock and vibration, can be easily mounted and they are pre-engineered. M23 cordsets are available with orange jackets as power cables and with a green jackets for signals. They are an established solution for connecting servo motors with a 1.0 connector size. Up until now, it was necessary to wire connector solutions for M23 applications from many individual parts. However, this solution was insufficient: many users complain about lacking seal, inadequate behavior when exposed to shock and vibration and time-consuming and inconvenient assembly. Murrelektronik offers M8 and M12 connectors for the sensor/actuator level that solve these problems. As a world leader in connection technology, Murrelektronik is dedicated in developing and producing solutions that are of real benefit to customers. Therefore, Murrelektronik is now is delighted to present the new M23 connectors that interface between servo controllers and motors.

: The new PICO® valve is more than 3 times faster than previous models

ordson EFD announces that they have more than tripled the speed of their PICO® series jet dispensing systems—from 150Hz (cycles per second) up to an industry-leading continuous 500Hz, making the new and improved versions the fastest piezoelectric valves available to the global manufacturing community. The new enhanced valves will help manufacturers increase production, improve quality and reduce costs. PICO systems use piezoelectric jetting technology to apply adhesives, lubricants and other assembly fluids with exceptional speed, in amounts as small as 2 nanoliters. Because PICO jet valves do not contact the substrate, they are ideal for applying precise amounts of fluid on uneven surfaces or products with small components, tight tolerances or hard-to- access areas, such as today’s mobile handsets and medical devices.

Compact

Non-Contacting Linear Position Sensors

A

s the exclusive UK distributor for Novotechnik, the German sensor and sensor systems

specialist, Variohm EuroSensor presents the following application note on non-contacting linear position sensors that replaced potentiometer types for a tube processing machine manufacturer.

Depending on the

application and the respective operating conditions, non-contacting measuring procedures are used for detecting linear movements.

The

choice frequently falls on inductive linear transducers. Compact dimensions and integrated electronics, which render the measured value as an absolute, standardized current or voltage signal at the output, are important arguments for the usage of these linear position sensors. Their application in the mechanical engineering sector described below provides a good example. The company Uniflex Hydraulik GmbH, headquartered in Karben, Germany, is a world-

dimensions, high pressures, quiet and reliable operation as well as high flexibility are characteristics of the hose crimpers, which are successfully deployed in industry and workshop settings around the world. Here the machines have to rely on dependable position sensors because the press stroke must be adjustable to the respective tubular form and size according to the values set by the control. The LS1 series of linear position sensors work based on an inductive principle, but are in size completely compatible with the

T-series

potentiometers previously used with hose crimpers. With dimensions of 18 mm x 18 mm and effective lengths from 25 to 200 mm, they are appropriate as alternatives to most standard potentiometers with a square cross-section.

The

integrated signal processing of the inductive linear position sensor makes the measured value available as an absolute current or voltage signal at the output. "In our machines, we use the analog 0...10 V voltage signal; the sensors' wide input voltage range of 16 to 30 V particularly benefits our export machines," Poth is pleased to confirm.

In addition, the linear position sensors are easily installed. "Mounting brackets are included in the delivery, and a ball coupling without play allows for a shear force-free application, even with parallel and angular displacement of linear sensor and measuring direction," explains Poth. With its compact design and actuating rods on both sides, this series is also suited for a variety of other industrial applications.

Maylan develops successfully with datatrack's support

These developments, including a change of ownership and new premises,

M have been implemented

seamlessly, resulting in an even better engineering sub-contract and assembly service. The use of the PSL DataTrack production management and business administration software system has played a major role in the on-going success of the company.

The

most significant developments for Corby based Maylan have been the move to new modern premises and the acquisition of the business by Stephen Weiss from his father. Both these events had to be managed expertly to ensure that the service provided to Maylan's customers was not adversely affected. PSL DataTrack software was already widely used by Maylan in its previous premises where Stephen had spent a long time examining the potential it offered and how to maximise its use. As a result, when the move came, DataTrack was already being used to manage the company’s customer quotations, works orders,

deliveries, purchase orders, goods received

and delivery notes. Paper administration had long been consigned to the past.
