Heat Pumps 27 An economical and sustainable solution
LG’s TECHNOLOGICALLY advanced new generation Therma V heating and domestic hot water system is being introduced to the UK marketplace. The system, with a full line up of split and monobloc air-to-water heat pump units ranging from 3kW to 16kW, offers what is claimed to be the most economical and sustainable method for provision of heating and hot water currently on the market.
These new hot water and heating systems from LG allow for fully flexible heating and hot water system design. The Therma V system is able to incorporate standard boilers and/or solar panels in the design allowing for a truly innovative and economical heating and hot water system. The system now comes in a range of outputs from 3kw up to 16kw with the flexibility to provide various styles of outputs providing hot water for under floor, radiators and domestic hot water.
Therma V has been developed specifically to respond to the needs of the renovation market and to the new housing market - and it adapts perfectly to individual and collective residential applications. Moreover, it makes up an eco-friendly product that uses two renewable energy sources – the surrounding air and the sun.

“The installation was carried out professionally and we were all impressed by the responsiveness of the Cool Energy team”
Therma V is superlatively economical with a Coefficient of Performance (COP) up to 4.5, among the most advanced on the market. Compared with a gas or oil boiler, or an electric radiator, which gives the same output for input, Therma V emits more than four times the energy to convert into heat.
LG inverter technology provides a high range of COP from 4.1 up to 4.5. In fact, Therma V offers more than 4kW of heating energy by consuming only 1kW of electricity. Therma V uses LG’s inverter technology to adjust the compressor speed constantly and maintain the desired temperature with minimum fluctuation. Therma V gives energy efficiency and improved user comfort via a number of new developments. On the outdoor unit stable operation is provided by pressure control operated by a pressure sensor and temperature sensors, along with a powerful BLDC inverter compressor and BLDC inverter fan motor.
Standby power has been cut by 90% compared with previous models and a wide louvre fin offers much improved performance.
A new silent mode schedule function has also been included, combining weekly timer and night noise operation functions, along with a useful screed-drying program for curing concreted surfaces in new housing. The monobloc units offer an all-in-one concept for easy installation including heat exchanger high efficiency water pump, expansion tank and electric heater delivered in one pack.
