Summer impressions by Ann Kopka – Acrylic on board
Library Gallery which is on now and will be there until September 25th . Ann’s modern acrylic paintings are inspired by encounters with the architecture of manmade and natural urban landscapes and discarded everyday ephemera. On show are paintings underpinned by a strong visual emphasis on experimentation with colour and light. Using digitally manipulated photographs derived out of curiosity, research and experimentation, Ann’s paintings are built up in multiple layers of saturated colour frequently giving the finished results vibrant surfaces with distinctive three dimensional qualities. Ann Kopka studied Fine Art at Central St Martin’s College of Art and Design and

the City Lit Institute London. She studied The Practices and Debates of Modern Art at The Open University and graduated with a First Class Honours degree. She has exhibited her work in London, the UK and also in the USA.
