Owing to the large amount of terminal space, universal connection and easy expansion through the use of multi-wire connections are possible at any time. At the same time,

technology guarantees a secure, maintenance-free and long lasting connection. The special clamping element design with its single-lead thread ensures a high quality and uniform connection, even when rewiring and reconnecting. The compact proportions of selos are an additional benefit and a result of the uniform and optimized design as well as the considerably fewer number of accessories.

trategic investments in developing new instruments and software for totally automated lab workflows translated into major business gains for Roche in the first half of 2013. cobas 8100 is one latest innovation in Roche’s portfolio of automated workflow management solutions for medical diagnostics laboratories. Roche continues to expand its workflow automation and IT portfolio in response to the challenges of ever-larger volumes of laboratory data and an increasingly regulated laboratory environment. Lab automation through integrated robotics and IT solutions is therefore becoming critical as a way of simplifying operations, reducing manual handling, and at the same time maximising patient safety. The cobas 8100 automated workflow solution, unveiled at this year’s EuroMedLab conference in Milan/Italy in May, is already generating a strong customer response and initial preorders. Combined with Roche’s cobas IT solutions it gives labs full and transparent control over their operational and clinical processes in both single as multisite set-ups. Together with Roche’s automated blood sample archiving systems, cobas 8100 simplifies and speeds up routines for analysis, archiving and on-demand retrieval of blood samples. “The new cobas solution will improve the way many laboratories operate. Total lab automation not only lowers costs and increases productivity, it also minimises the risk of sample mix-ups or contamination through manual handling by lab personnel. new range of competitively priced 22 mm diameter piezo resistive pressure sensors has been launched by Variohm EuroSensor. The EPT 9100 series is aimed at industrial and automotive gauge and vacuum pressure measurement from 4 to 1000 bar in 14 standard range versions.

The high strength 304 grade stainless steel sensor is available in IP66 and IP69K rated versions and contains no silicone or internal O- rings. Built for maximum durability the EPT9100 series features a 2x overrange and 5x burst pressure rating with a stability factor of +/- 0.1% over 1 year.
Electrical input and output options include 10 – 32 VDC and 5 VDC input with 4…20mA, 0..5 VDC and 0.5…4.5 VDC output, providing < +/- 0.5% accuracy at normal ambient temperature.
