Studiomaster/Carlsbro Joint HQ Operational


STUDIOMASTER/ CARLSBRO’S new joint HQ, distribution and logistics centre is now fully operational. The facility in Milton


Keynes, in the south-east of England, brings together all of the two brands’ key operations under one roof. R&D teams, for Carlsbro and Studiomaster, UK and worldwide sales, international administration, service and support, international marketing, and UK and Ireland distribution are all now operational from the centre.


As a hub for UK and


worldwide logistics, the HQ also provides for rapid smaller stock shipments internationally, complementing large-scale direct shipments out of the Ningbo manufacturing facility in China. “The commencement of full logistics operations from our new HQ marks the completion of yet another critical stage in our business plan, following the management and operational

HHB Provides The Backstage Centre With High-Spec Recording Studio


HHB Communications has supplied The Backstage Centre with audio equipment for a new state-of-the-art, 48-channel recording studio. Located just outside of


London in Purfleet, The Backstage Centre offers a fully-equipped space for all types of production rehearsal and training requirements, from large-scale theatre and opera, to arena-scale band rehearsals and recording facilities.

Atmos facility LUXEMBOURG-BASED Philophon Post Production Studios has opened a major new studio, featuring a Dolby Atmos audio system, built by acoustic design company Munro Acoustics. The latest addition to the Philophon facilities is located inside Filmland – a new film production complex. “It is great to be involved with the Atmos programme and this is our fifth project since its inception,” said Munro Acoustics’ Andy Munro. “Philophon is the perfect client; fully committed to quality and sound engineering of the highest standard. I have no doubt that cinema will embrace Atmos as a truly innovative approach to


sound-field creation.” The company was founded in 2007 by production sound mixers Philippe Kohn and Carlo Thoss, and re-recording mixer Michel Schillings. Today its facilities include a total of eight sound editing suites equipped with Dynaudio 5.1 monitors and two Mixing Stages. Philophon’s Munro- Designed Studio A (pictured) is based around a 32-fader Avid D-control running three Pro Tools HDX systems and Avid Media composer for picture playback. Other kit includes a JBL speaker system, three TC Electronic M6000 reverb units, and a Cedar DNS 3000 de-noiser. www.munro.co.uk
