PELLETIZERS Automatik adds high-heat rollers
Automatik Plastics Machin- ery has introduced a new heat-resistant elastomer feed roller for its strand pelletizers. The EL 24 roller provides a high thermal load capacity up to 170°C. In addition, it is claimed to offer improved frictional resistance and compression behaviour compared to conventional elastomer feed rollers. The roller is available in white and is silicon-free, which can be important for the semiconductor industry. Automatik says that the
growth in more specialized compounds is leading to a steady rise in demand for feed rollers that are adapted
can be used to compound a wide of materials including masterbatches, PVC, technical polyolefi ns and engineering polymers. It is particularly suited to the processing of highly fi lled and highly pigmented materials.
According to Farrel, the CP
Series II can deliver fully dispersed and homogenous materials with low residence times and low operating temperatures. Watch the video at

TWIN-SCREW TRAINING
Century offers new webinars
Century Extrusion is running a range of free online seminars on twin-screw compounding. The monthly webinars focus on different aspects of improving the productivity of compounding operations. Each webinar lasts around one hour and includes a question and answer session at the end. Participants can submit questions using text messages.
Led by Century’s director Automatik has added new feed rollers for tough pelletizing applications
to the material being pro- cessed. It adds that tests carried out by its customers have shown that the EL 24 roller lasts up to four to fi ve times longer than conventional designs.
Automatik also offers its
customers a back-up package for its rollers, enabling them to be ex- changed for recoating within a few days.

of process technology Adam Dreiblatt, the webinars are run at three different times of day to make them easily accessible to participants around the world. The company says that they are particularly popular with compounders in Asia. Forthcoming topics over
the next four months include screw assembly and disassembly, overcoming feed limitations, solving vent problems, and working safely with twin-screw extruders.
