O’Fallon Casting Leaders Oversee $15 Million Growth in 10 Years When General Manager Vince Gimeno began with the


newly named and aq uired O’Fallon Casting, O’Fallon, Mo., in 2003, the goal was to build a world-class metalcasting facility. “We had aquired a business with a good reputation and a


strong group of core employees that only needed better tools to take them to a higher level,” Gimeno said. O’Fallon Casting began with 93 employees and sales of


$10 million in 2003 and by 2012, employment had grown to 160 with record sales of $25 million. Te company began by making small, incremental improvements to the investment casting facility. In 2005, the company was named the City of O’Fallon’s Manufacturer of the Year. In 2013, which marks O’Fallon Castings’ 10th anniversary, the company complet- ed an expansion that will allow the facility to produce $35 million in sales when full. “After the end of their first year, we could see the owner-


ship commitment to the business as they were investing every penny back into the business,” said Bruce Willson, sales manager. “Vince and our owner Barry Hadley have the vision thing.” In May, O’Fallon Casting earned the Casting of the Year


award from Modern Casting for an electronics housing it produced for a defense industry customer. U.S. Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer recognized the company for the honor


PERSONALS Te Nickel Institute, Toronto, appointed Tim Aiken,


retired general manager of marketing at Anglo American Platinum, Johannesburg, as its president July 1. Aiken succeeds Kevin Bradley, who was the institute’s president for 2.5 years.


Steve Helfer, general manager of Clinkenbeard, Rockford,


Ill., joined a professional peer group organized by the Tooling & Manufacturing Association, Park Ridge, Ill., which focuses on defining products and markets, determining value proposi- tions, solving customer problems and targeting new customers.


B&L Information Systems, Bridgman, Mich., awarded B.J.


Clark its Dick Laney Memorial Scholarship, which is open to children of B&L employees attending accredited colleges. Clark will enroll at Western Michigan Univ., Kalamazoo, Mich., this fall as a freshman majoring in mechanical engineering.


OBITUARIES Ron Steele, plant metallurgist for the C.A. Lawton Company,


Green Bay, Wis., died May 1, 2013. He was 70. A renowned expert in cast iron products and processes, Steele joined C.A. Lawton in 2005 and served as its metallurgist until his passing.


Doyle Folds, plant manager at the Chassix iron casting


facility in Columbus, Ga., died May 23, 2013. He was 58. Before joining Chassix (formerly Diversified Machine Inc.), Folds worked for Wheland Foundry, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Metal Technologies Inc., Auburn, Ind.
