Bradken to Supply Castings for California Transit Center San Francisco’s
Transbay Joint Powers Authority (TJPA) has selected Bradken Inc., Kansas City, Mo., as the supplier of 304 steel castings made up of 75 unique geom- etries totaling approx- imately 3.3 million pounds. Te castings, for the construction of a regional trans- portation hub, range in size from 3,600 lbs. to more than 46,000 lbs. Te contract will be manufactured and managed by the company’s U.S.-based Industrial Products Business. “Te Transbay

Spartan Light Metal Products Earns Three Honda Honors At its annual supplier conference,
Honda recognized Spartan Light Metal Products, St. Louis, a supplier of aluminum and magnesium custom die castings and assemblies, with three awards. Spartan received the Excellence in Delivery Performance Award for the entire company and the Challenging Spirit Award for its Sparta, Ill., and
Mexico, Mo. plants. Spartan has three manufacturing facilities and offices in St. Louis, Detroit, Tokyo and Land- stuhl, Germany. As Honda's North American opera-
tions manufactured a record 1.7 million automobiles in 2012, it proved to be a difficult year to meet delivery require- ments. Spartan partnered with Honda
and its competitors to ensure Honda’s delivery requirements were met. Honda’s original equipment
manufacturer (OEM) suppliers pro- vide parts to 14 Honda manufacturing plants in North America for the pro- duction of Honda and Acura automo- biles, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and other utility products.
