American record in the event by .07 seconds with her winning time of 12.26. Rollins leads Team USA into Moscow in an event where Americans have always been deep. Following the USA Outdoor Championships, Americans owned the top 19 times in the world in the women’s 100m hurdles.

Fans on Saturday at the USA Outdoor Championships were treated to an assault on the American record books as well. On two separate occasions in her series, Amanda Bingson established the American record in the women’s hammer throw. She first set the American record on her second attempt (74.92m/245-9) before improving that mark on her third attempt (75.73m/248-5). Michelle Carter, who felt confident the American record was coming for her in 2013, was able to do so in Des Moines with her mark of 20.24m/66-5 in the women’s shot put. The trio of records when paired with the American record set by Rollins led to a memorable Saturday at the USA Outdoor Championships.

Seventeen-year-old Mary Cain entered the outdoor championships after a season that has been an assault on the high school and junior record books. She quickly proved she can run with the best in the country with her second place finish in the women’s 1,500m in 4:28.76 and becoming the youngest ever member of Team USA for the World Outdoor Championships.
