TEAM USA SUPERLATIVES

H The 17 medals won by Team USA, which included two gold, seven silver and eight bronze, is the most it has won at any edition of the World Youth Championships and won the overall medal count for the U.S.

H Team USA amassed a total of 152 points in the overall points standings to far outdistance second place Germany (104) and third place China (100).

H Ky Westbrook (Chandler, Ariz.), who won gold in the girls 100m, is the daughter of former NFL wide receiver Michael Westbrook, who played for the Redskins and Bengals.

H Dior Hall (Denver, Colo.) beat her mother’s high school record in the 100m hurdles (76.2cm) to win silver in 13.01

H In winning bronze in the girls’ triple jump, Kenturah Orji (Budd Lake, N.J.) moved up to No. 2 on the all-time high school list with her jump of 13.61m/44-8.

H Raevyn Rogers (Houston, Texas) pulled off a difficult double by taking bronze in the girls’ 800m just 30 minutes before running the 300m leg on Team USA’s medley relay, which took gold.
