A recent ruling by a Californian court dismissed a punitive class action brought by a ticket holder accusing The Los Angeles Lakers, Inc. of sending unsolicited text messages, as he voluntarily provided his phone number and thus was not actionable under the TCPA, the upcoming feature will be examining the TCPA and the challenges raised for companies. Damages range from $500 up to $£1,500 per violation which means that companies can be exposed to significant risk if involved in a TCPA class action suit.
