elcome to the July edition of Lawyer Monthly. As usual, this month we have plenty in store for you from the world’s legal and corporate news rooms, as well as lots of exclusive interviews,
features and bulletins.
This month the European Union welcomed its 28th member with the ascension of Croatia. Now a fully fledged member of the EU, Croatia is now a ‘stable democracy, capable of taking on the obligations of EU membership and of adhering to EU standards’, according to a statement issued by the EU. It will be interesting to see how the country develops and flourishes under the new arrangement and how it will adapt to the new legal and regulatory system it is answerable to.
Our exclusive features this month include an interesting interview with Richard Collard from IBM about tackling money laundering in order to safeguard one’s reputation. We also speak this month to Henri Leveque, leader of PwC’s U.S. Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory Services about the fact that IPO Activity has surged during the second quarter of the year, according to PwC’s IPO Watch.
We also take an interesting look at why technology plays a pivotal role in mergers and acquisitions with an exclusive article from Kroll Ontrack, a leading provider of data recovery, e-disclosure and information management products and services.
Also in this month’s edition, we have our ‘In Association with…’ feature which this month looks at the work of Alliott Group and LawPact.
