SCM-HV high-voltage signal conditioner H

High-sensitivity compact strain transducer

H

BM has launched the CST/300 piezoelectric strain sensor to meet a growing industrial demand for compact measurement technology featuring high sensitivity.

The CST/300 piezoelectric strain

transducer features a sensitivity of around 50 pC/N to ensure very high output signals and good reproducibility, even in challenging measurement environments. Very small strains of 10 µm/m or less, or nominal strains of up to 300 µm/m, can easily be measured.

HBM’s innovative development of piezoelectrics in the CST/300 overcomes the traditional limits of strain sensors have in measuring minute strains, such as in objects that only evidence minor deformations under load, such as presses, welding plants or crimping machines, or when there is very little space available. Strain sensors utilize measurement object deformations when a force is applied, for example in building monitoring tasks. These deformations are proportional to the force and are measured with a strain transducer that provides an improved economic alternative to integrated force sensors in numerous cases.

BM has developed the SCM-HV high-voltage signal conditioner for its QuantumX universal data acquisition system so that these voltages can now be converted and acquired in parallel with other measurements such as mechanical quantities. The SCM-HV high-voltage signal conditioner meets the EN61010 directive and the specifications for IEC measurement category 2 up to 300 Volt; signals of up to 500 Volt can also be acquired by measurements outside the category. The launch of the SCM-HV means that HBM now supplies an appropriate measurement solution for each IEC category. Coupling the SCM-HV with the QuantumX enables data rates of up to 100 kS/sec per channel to be set while both time and costs are reduced through processing corresponding data simultaneously.

Latest models increase torque flange’s capabilities H

BM has launched two new models of its T40B digital torque flange with 50 Nm and 100 Nm torque measurement ranges making the transducer suitable for a wider range of applications. The compact design of the T40B means the torque flange can be easily integrated into various applications such as for e-motor testing and hybrid drive systems. The optional magnetic speed measurement system generates 1024 pulses per revolution enabling very accurate speed measurements even at low speeds. The T40B has been designed as a precise and robust system for measuring torque and speed accurately even under the most difficult industrial environment conditions. The torque flange utilizes the magnetic measurement principle so that oil vapors and dirt have no impact on results. Data transmission between the rotor and stator is digital so that any interferences are practically excluded.

he FL BT EPA MP wireless module adds a new Bluetooth access point to Phoenix Contact’s range of industrial wireless devices.

The compact and rugged module reliably transfers Ethernet data over a distance of up to 250 m at a rate of up to 3 Mbps. Quality features like QoS and LLDP make it compatible with Ethernet- based automation protocols such as ProfiNet and ProfiSafe, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus TCP. The device conforms with protection category IP 65 and can handle up to seven Bluetooth connections

in parallel. With features such as an external antenna port, an included omnidirectional antenna, and a low power consumption of approx. 1.1 W, the device is particularly suitable for use in battery- powered systems. The wireless module supports any Bluetooth-compliant unit with a PAN profile, for instance, the FL BT EPA module from Phoenix Contact with a built-in antenna.

Multi-Touch-Operated, IP65-Compliant Industrial Panel PCs:

A

utomation has never looked better – The new panel PCx of DL 1000 series combine high performance technology and

attractive design. They feature full IP65 protection, offer high- resolution LED technology, support complex user interfaces, multi-touch capacity and are always close to the action as they can be installed quickly and easily, directly on the machine. Thanks to their fan-less and energy-efficient design, they are the ideal solution for future operating concepts in industrial systems: easy maintenance, custom configuration and robust performance. Users can decide between single- or multi-touch displays to suit the application at hand. This also accommodates future machine operating modes such as gesture control. The slim 60-mm Panel PCs are protected by a robust die-cast aluminium housing and resist dust and water according to protection class IP 65. Further, these devices can be used in extreme temperatures ranging from -20 °C up to +55 °C, which also makes them suitable for refrigeration systems.
