Feature SCADA & Data Acquisition Expansion across the pond
SCHAD, the mobile application developer of EXTEND7000, the SCADA and maintenance mobile solution, has announced the signing of a partnership agreement with Banetti, an Americas-based full service asset management consultancy firm. Under this partnership, Banetti, a AAA Accredited Premier IBM Maximo Business Partner, will become an authorised EXTEND7000 reseller and implementation partner in the Americas
face. Users have the ability to react to unplanned faults whilst conducting routine planned maintenance opera- tions in the field, all within the same look and feel menu structure without having to switch between applications. Implementation of EXTEND7000 results in business benefit and cost sav- ings, productivity and efficiency improvements, improved equipment up-time and provides invaluable data for management reporting.
T
he new contract represents an important strategic partnership for SCHAD as it will help the com- pany gain access to the largest growing market for EAM and in particu- lar, IBM Maximo. Launched in summer 2012, EXTEND7000 for Maximo is a mobile application that integrates with existing SCADA systems and Maximo, providing a single user interface and workflow for the user. EXTEND7000 is designed to filter SCADA alarms and PLC faults to specific maintenance engi- neers, allowing time to action to be sig- nificantly reduced.
EXTEND7000 also enables complete access to Maximo’s work order manage- ment suite enabling maintenance teams to access critical data and record activ- ity through a single mobile user inter-

Route to market SCHAD’s route to market is through industry specialist integrators looking to add value to their solutions and services offering with the addition of EXTEND7000. The company is cur- rently developing a global network of resellers and integration partners with specialist industry expertise in trans- portation, manufacturing, logistics/ dis- tribution, utilities and oil and gas. An AAA Accredited IBM Premier Business Partner and expert in mobility for asset management since 1994, Banetti is well placed to work with SCHAD. The company offers a full portfolio of Maximo services, delivered by certified consultants with many years of Maximo industry experience. Banetti has a strong track record in manufacturing and life sciences with
customers such as Cordis Corporation, DePuy, Ethicon, Lifescan, Vistakon, Allison Transmission, Express Scripts/Medco and Eagle Materials. “Tens of thousands of users rely on IBM Maximo in the US and Latin America for asset management, so this represents a huge market opportunity for our new partner, Banetti, to offer customers a unique solution and clearly differentiate themselves in the market whilst offering true business benefit to their clients,” said Dave O’Reilly, direc- tor, global strategic alliances at SCHAD. “Banetti is clearly a leading company in its field and we are delighted to partner with them and introduce EXTEND7000 to the Americas.”

a robust industrial PC for flexible data acquisition in a number of harsh and mis- sion critical environments, including power plant maintenance, electric traction engine testing, ballistics and explosive testing. The LAN connectivity enables reliable, stand alone operation in remote applica- tions, such as structural health verification on bridges and buildings, seismic activity monitoring or stray voltage detection from defective power lines. Channel configurations of 4, 8 and 12 are available in addition to the 24, depend- ing on application needs. Each channel provides up to 128MB of acquisition memory. Different Elsys PCI/PCIe-compatible TPCX and TPCE digitisers comprise the
heart of the TraNET PPC, depending on specific application needs. Features include single ended and differential inputs, large input voltage and offset ranges, advanced trigger capabilities with an external trigger, programmable anti-aliasing filters as well as ICP input for piezo sensors and digital inputs.

Precision measurement in rugged, remote environments The new TraNET PPC offers several different recording modes to address specific
data requirements. Scope mode, similar to an oscilloscope, enables quick configura- tion of acquisition parameters for simply visualising and analysing single shot events. Continuous mode acquires and writes data onto the internal hard disk at a high speed with no loss of data or dead times between events. The capture length is limited only by the size of the hard disk. Block mode divides the available onboard data acquisition memory into absolute or relative time stamped blocks and is especially useful for capturing sig- nal bursts where only relevant data needs to be recorded. The most sophisticated mode, Event Controlled Recording (ECR), provides intelligent streaming for troubleshooting and long term monitoring applications. The TraNET PPC comes equipped with a large 17” LCD display, a full keyboard and touch pad as well as device drivers for Windows and Linux, with the ability to be remotely controlled over Gbit Ethernet. The unit can be synchronised with other Elsys equipment to build large scale systems and is compatible with the TranAX software, featuring 50 scalar functions and a built-in formula editor, to become a turnkey solution.
