Grand Sierra Resort and Casino
Northern Nevada’s largest resort receives a dramatic makeover
Currently undergoing more than $25 million in renovations, the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino now features a level of luxury and sophistication unprecedented in the Reno area. Not only have the lobby and all 845 suites at The Summit, which takes up the top 11 floors of the resort, received a sprucing up, but a new indoor pool and nightclub, sports- book, and indoor racquetball court soon will join the resort’s long list of on-site amenities and attractions. When it’s time to get down to business,
the resort’s flexible collection of event ven- ues and meeting spaces can accommo- date almost any type of event, from small
corporate meetings to large trade shows. The 39,846-square-foot Grand Ballroom and Grand Salon can be configured to accommo- date 2,900 guests for theater-style events, while the Summit Pavilion offers more than 45,000 square feet of carpeted space for exhibitions, along with close to 3,000 square feet of prefunction space. In addi- tion, meeting planners can take advantage of the 44,115-square-foot Nevada Conference & Exhibition Center, a second pavilion with more than 40,000 square feet of meeting space, a junior ballroom with space for up to 650 guests, as well as a theater with the world’s largest proscenium stage.
When it’s time to play, attendees won’t
have to go far. The resort’s on-site ameni- ties range from an expansive spa and shop- ping mall to an 80,000-square-foot casino
— along with more than 40 championship golf courses and 18 ski resorts nearby. Attend- ees can also enjoy hiking, biking, equestrian trails, fishing, boating, and guided tours in and around Tahoe, Carson, and Virginia City.
